Summary

An understanding of psychology-specifically the psychology behind how users behave and interact with digital interfaces-is perhaps the single most valuable nondesign skill a designer can have。 The most elegant design can fail if it forces users to conform to the design instead of working within the "blueprint" of how humans perceive and process the world around them。 This practical guide explains how you can apply key principles of psychology to build products and experiences that are more human-centered and intuitive。 Author Jon Yablonski deconstructs familiar apps and experiences to provide clear examples of how UX designers can build interfaces that adapt to how users perceive and process digital interfaces。 You'll

Great at concisely communicating the psychological principles and their corresponding applications in UX Design。 It's definitely something to keep as a reference and re-read every few years (or months, depending on how far along in your product development)。 A discussion on gestaltism would have been a pertinent inclusion for chapter 11's discussion on defaults, maybe warranting an entire section on its own in future editions。 Great at concisely communicating the psychological principles and their corresponding applications in UX Design。 It's definitely something to keep as a reference and re-read every few years (or months, depending on how far along in your product development)。 A discussion on gestaltism would have been a pertinent inclusion for chapter 11's discussion on defaults, maybe warranting an entire section on its own in future editions。 。。。more

Absolutely tore through this - a nice reference book especially for justifying design decisions to stakeholders without UX experience。 Loved the pictures 😍

Love the Laws of UX website and appreciated the deep-dive this book takes into them。

I think it’s a very good read for aspiring and junior UX designers。 However it’s pretty surface level。 All in all a good read, learnt some good & important pointers I can apply for UX work。

Great stuff, very breezy, every-word-is-highlightable kinda dealio。 Could have had a pinch more depth。 I do love the way the book is designed to maximize and speed up the learning of its principles to the percentile increment of efficiency。 Now that's good UX。 Great stuff, very breezy, every-word-is-highlightable kinda dealio。 Could have had a pinch more depth。 I do love the way the book is designed to maximize and speed up the learning of its principles to the percentile increment of efficiency。 Now that's good UX。 。。。more

Excelente libro para la mejora de productos y servicios。 Siento que está enfocado en páginas web o programación, sin embargo, todo se puede usar para el ámbito en que uno se dedica y en el día a día。

Great and concise book。 It delivers what it promises。It’s not for you if you are starting in UX because it already touches subject and examples that are not for starters。 I do have to have to say it’s better in a physical o pdf copy, because of the examples。 For an audiobook is simple and understandable, the examples are explained but I think the experience is better if you read it。

Yablonski did formulate such an intuitive work-of-design with this book。 It is perceptive with the things one knows subconsciously to do with design (at least to me); yet the format of presentation remains delightfully engaging。 I loved reading it。 It acts as my first foray into the world 🗺 of design。 🙌🏾

Absolutely love this book。 I find myself coming back to this occasionally, referring it to chads I teach and I’m pretty sure I’ll read it a few times more。 Even has a website dude!

A book for every designer, all points are valid, true and it’s a perfect starting point for a common set of principles。 It is missing common patterns that don’t fall under certain laws and are a must

Interesting info on applying psychological principles to UX design。 Very digestible, easy to get through with plenty of examples and images。 Easily applicable and will likely go back and reference from time to time。

This is a really good to consume as an audiobook。 The information is provided in a fuss-free way and the author doesn't take long to get to the point。 I recommend this book for anyone keen to get moving with their UX career, not merely as a designer but also as a writer or researcher。This was a good investment for me。 This is a really good to consume as an audiobook。 The information is provided in a fuss-free way and the author doesn't take long to get to the point。 I recommend this book for anyone keen to get moving with their UX career, not merely as a designer but also as a writer or researcher。This was a good investment for me。 。。。more

Who is this for:- great for anyone new to UX。- those in need of a shared language/argument for design decisions。Key takeaways:- designers have a lot to learn from psychology。- language/argument for design decisions。Impressions: - Well written and structured。 Best parts are when laws are demonstrated in UX techniques。 - Some laws are quickly understood and a long detailed elaboration of the law seems a bit redundant。

Buen libro, un compendio bien ordenado y con ejemplos de buenas prácticas con una nota sobre la ética del diseño。Para tener de consulta。

One of the best books I have been ever reading so far。 In addition, you don't have to be a UX/UI design expert to have a good grasp on all the knowledge covered by the book and will get insights into the well-explained intersection of human psychology and an appealing UX/UI。 Some of the reasons I highly recommend this book to you are listed below:1。 Well-organized content。2。 Many awesome psychology concepts。3。 Well-explicated interaction between human psychology and attractive user interface。4。 One of the best books I have been ever reading so far。 In addition, you don't have to be a UX/UI design expert to have a good grasp on all the knowledge covered by the book and will get insights into the well-explained intersection of human psychology and an appealing UX/UI。 Some of the reasons I highly recommend this book to you are listed below:1。 Well-organized content。2。 Many awesome psychology concepts。3。 Well-explicated interaction between human psychology and attractive user interface。4。 Some of means to render the activities on the browser more intuitive to user experience。Have a nice experience with this book ^。^ 。。。more

Some books don't need to be encyclopedic in order to get their point across - this is one of them。 You can read in under one hour, probably。 It is the most easily digestible, concise text on best practices for UI/UX design I've come across; as effective as good UX should be。 Unlike other books I've read, there are actual examples illustrating each of the principles。 Both good and bad。 Experienced designers will not learn much - though some would do well to try and re read it。。。It is perfect for Some books don't need to be encyclopedic in order to get their point across - this is one of them。 You can read in under one hour, probably。 It is the most easily digestible, concise text on best practices for UI/UX design I've come across; as effective as good UX should be。 Unlike other books I've read, there are actual examples illustrating each of the principles。 Both good and bad。 Experienced designers will not learn much - though some would do well to try and re read it。。。It is perfect for the budding designer or someone without formal training looking to color inside the lines。 Recommended。 。。。more
